Carrie Harper, research administrator, was selected as the 2007 Employee of the Year for the Chicago Campus.
Two students receive Weil awards given by the American Association of Neuropathologists during their recent annual meeting in Washington DC.
Ms. Xiaoguang Michelle Gao is the recipient of the Weil Award for Best Paper: “Low affinity neurotrophin receptor (p75NTR) expression is regulated by early growth response (Egr) transcriptional regulators.” Xiaoguang Gao and Warren G. Tourtellotte
Ms. Laurie Eldredge received one of three Weil Honorable Mentions for best presentation in Experimental Neuropathology: “Mice lacking the transcriptional regulator Egr3 have Nerve Growth Factor (NGF) signaling defects and profound sympathetic dysautonomia.” Laurie Eldredge Tudor, Xiaoguang Gao, and Warren Tourtellotte
The Academy of Clinical Laboratory Scientists and Physicians (ACLPS) announced that Dr. Anjen Chenn, Assistant Professor of Pathology, will be the featured speaker at the Annual meeting in San Diego, on June 8, 2007. Dr. Glenn Ramsey, MD was appointed to the HHS Secretary's Advisory Committee on Blood Safety and Availability. The committee makes general recommendations to HHS on broad issues involving the US blood supply. Administratively, the committee reports to Secretary Leavitt through his Office of Public Health and Science, which is under Asst Secy of Health and PHS director Dr. John Agwunob. - 2/17/2006.
