Medical Student Clerkship

Department of Pathology faculty members are very involved in teaching and mentoring medical students. Our department offers resources and opportunities managed through the Augusta Webster Office of Education (AWOME) at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.

Medical Student Clerkship

We offer a four-week pathology rotation for M3 and M4 medical students. The goal of the rotation is to provide a thorough understanding of the pathology of a wide variety of diseases, their natural history and the normal anatomy and histology of the human organism.

This rotation provides a comprehensive understanding of all facets of surgical pathology by exposing students to state-of-the-art diagnostic techniques, ranging from standard procedures to advanced molecular approaches. It is a valuable introduction to diagnostic pathology for medical students pursuing pathology and non-pathology careers.
